Tom and Kath Stimmler will be leading us through the beautiful North Country on the Peak-to-Peak Highway to Estes Park. The date is Saturday, April 21. The word is LAYER.......layer, layer, layer. Who knows what the good Lord and weather man will bring, but you can be prepared. It�s bound to be beautiful! We will be having lunch at the Estes Park Brewery, 470 Prospect Village Drive, phone 970-586-5421, (in case of accidental separation.) Our reservation is at noon. The menu includes pizza, burgers, and sandwiches, along with beer and soft drinks.Here are the meeting places and times:
Meet at Foss Drug at 9:15 to leave by 9:30. Gas is available as you come into Golden. Foss Drug is at 1224 Washington Ave. in Golden. Parking is in the rear. We will drive to Nederland via Golden Gate Canyon, Highway 46. West on 46 to Highway 119, turn right and follow 119 into Nederland. Gas, coffee, and restrooms are available in Nederland.
If you are coming from the north and don�t want to come as far south as Golden, you can meet us in Nederland. There is a gas station on Highway 119 as you come into town, on the right. Meet there at 10:15 to leave by 10:30. Gas, coffee, and restrooms are available there. All of our group should be together at this point.
From Nederland we will drive the Peak-to-Peak (Highway 72 to Highway 7) into Estes Park. At the south edge of Estes Park we will turn left onto Mary�s Lake Road, right on Moraine Avenue, right on Riverside Drive, and right on Prospect Village Drive. After lunch we�ll drive through Estes Park. You can either be on your own, or stay with the group. We are going to Loveland via Drake (Highway 43, Devil�s Gulch Road) and then Highway 34 (Big Thompson Canyon) to Loveland. In Loveland, you can go home via Highway 287 or I-25, however you choose. I might mention that there is a Coldstone Ice Cream on H34 in Loveland, in case anyone is interested. We would love to see you there!
