Apparently, a few years ago, a Cobra Club made a pit stop in a little town called Saguache, CO. A 12 year old boy was invited to sit in one of the cars and have his picture taken. Little did anyone know how that experience would feed his interest in cars.
Our club has been invited to drive in the Saguache County Parade in Saguache, CO on May 27, 2007. The 27th is a Sunday. Line-up is at 10:00 a.m. and the parade starts at 11:00 a.m. There are traditionally an assortment of classic and vintage cars in the parade. That little boy isn't 12 anymore, but he'll be in the parade with his two cars.
There are two motels in the immediate area. The Hillside Motel has about six to eight units, 719-665-2524 or 719-655-2408. The Saguache Creek Lodge & RV Park, 719-655-2264 has a restaurant and bar, six rooms and kitchenettes. There are also numerous accommodations in Monte Vista, 35 miles to the south, and Salida, 45 miles to the northeast.
This could be a terrific weekend! If you would like to be appreciated and the center of attention, this has got to be the place to go. And it's a scenic drive down. Is there anyone who would like to head this up? I would think you would want to drive down on Saturday. You could come back either Sunday afternoon or Monday. Call me if you're interested.
